Caroline Fife, MD
Chief Medical Officer - Intellicure, Inc.

Caroline is the Chief Medical Officer of Intellicure, Inc. and is an Associate Professor within the Department of Anesthesiology, The University of Texas Medical School at Houston and Director of the Hermann Centers for Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Medicine, and Aerospace and Industrial Medicine. Caroline received her medical degree from Texas A&M University's College of Medicine, where she was no doubt under the watchful eye of one of diving medicine’s pioneers, Dr. William Fife! Caroline’s interest in undersea medicine began at a tender age. As a 14 year old she served very ably as a support diver diving the Hydro Lab seabed laboratory studies, in the Bahamas Islands. Her post-graduate training included residency in Family Medicine, and a two-year fellowship in Environmental and Hyperbaric Medicine at Duke University Medical Center. Additional didactic training in undersea medicine included the NOAA course, and practical experience included the on-site DMO for the National Geographic/Institute Of Nautical Archaeology sponsored excavation of the Kas wreck, in Turkey. Caroline took over the hyperbaric facility at Herman Hospital and assumed her present appointments beginning in 1990. She is board certified in Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine, and in Family Practice.

Caroline is a past president of the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society, was inducted into The Woman Divers Hall of Fame as an inaugural member, serves as a key resource in the wound healing field and is a frequently sought speaker on all things wound healing, lymphedema management, undersea and hyperbaric medicine.  For Caroline's full CV, please visit her profile on the UT website.
