After a Medicare claims data delay stalled release, practitioners may now review Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) final feedback and scores for the 2024 performance year. These scores affect 2026 payment adjustments. For instructions on how to review, download the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ (CMS’) performance feedback FAQs. To address errors, CMS says participants have approximately 60 days to request a targeted review. The target review period will close 30 days after the release of 2026 MIPS payment adjustments. Remember, if you are “eligible” (Medicare’s term for “required”) to participate in MIPS and you ignore it, you can lose 9% of your Medicare billing.
