Dear APM Docs: Your 2023 APM Bonus Is Waiting… If CMS Can Find You

Quality Payment Program

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) needs practitioners who are participating in alternative payment model (APM) to update their Medicare billing information by Sept. 1 to receive their 2023 incentive payments, or risk forfeiture. The news release about this indicated that there was a downloadable list of the names of clinicians to whom CMS wants to pay money – but I can’t get the link to work, and I got tired of trying to find it. However, you can just go to the Qualified Payment Program (QPP) resource library and follow the instructions to provide updated billing information. You can also contact the Quality Payment Program Help Desk at (866) 288-8292.  I have called that help desk many times and while you might wait on hold, I have to say that the people who answer are very nice and helpful.

You might be participating in an APM and not even know it – that happens a lot – so there’s no harm in updating your payment information. I hope you find some money for yourself because you earned it.
